The internal mixing single-screw granulator is a device widely used in the field of material processing. The following is a detailed introduction to its principles and applications: ### Working Principle - **Internal Mixing Part**: The internal mixer is an important component of the internal mixing single-screw granulator. There are two relatively rotating rotors inside it, and the rotors are equipped with special spiral ribs and bumps. When the material enters the internal mixer, under the strong stirring and shearing action of the rotors, the material is continuously squeezed, stretched, sheared, and mixed. This high-intensity mixing action enables the material to achieve uniform dispersion and thorough mixing in a short time. At the same time, due to the friction between the rotors and the material as well as the shearing action within the material, a large amount of heat is generated, increasing the temperature of the material and achieving the purpose of plasticization. - **Single-screw Extrusion Part**: The material after internal mixing enters the single-screw extruder. The single screw has a spiral groove. Driven by the motor, the screw rotates and pushes the material forward along the groove. During the pushing process, the material is further compacted and plasticized under the extrusion and friction of the screw. Meanwhile, through the heating device and cooling system on the barrel, the temperature of the material can be precisely controlled to make it reach the optimal extrusion state. When the material is conveyed to the head of the screw, under a certain pressure, the material is extruded through the die head to form a continuous strip or columnar shape. - **Granulation Part**: The extruded strip or columnar material is cooled and shaped through the cooling device and then enters the granulator. The granulator usually uses a rotating cutter to cut the cooled material into particles of a certain length, thus completing the granulation process. ### Application Fields - **Plastic Industry**    - **General Plastic Modification**: Adding various additives such as fillers, toughening agents, and flame retardants to general plastics like polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), and then mixing and granulating them through the internal mixing single-screw granulator can improve the properties of the plastics and expand their application scope. For example, adding calcium carbonate filler to PP can increase the hardness and rigidity of PP and reduce the cost.    - **Engineering Plastic Production**: For engineering plastics such as polyamide (PA) and polycarbonate (PC), the internal mixing single-screw granulator can be used to produce high-quality modified engineering plastic particles.
